UK Browser Statistics

Statcounter has launched a new global stats tool which lets you see at a glance how the various browsers are performing. Stats can be viewed on a worldwide or a UK basis. Other regional countries and breakdowns are also available.

For example, the mobile browser stats tool shows that in the UK, the iPhone and iPod Touch lead the market with 31% and 20% of the global browser market respectively. This is followed by Nokia (13%), BlackBerry (9.6%) and Opera (7.5%). Sony PSP has 6% of the mobile browser market in the UK.

The StatCounter research data is based on four billion pageloads per month.

Unsurprisingly the global stats also confirm Google's dominance with 89.99% of the search engine market followed by Yahoo with 4.28%.

IE is still the browser of choice for the majority with 68.28% of users compared with 24.52% for Firefox.
